Natural MattressesPure Sleep. Pure Nature.
Our Story

Born from a belief that sleep should never come at a cost to your health.

Natural Mattresses was founded by artisans who discovered that most mattresses — even those marketed as "natural" — contain adhesives, formaldehyde treatments, and synthetic foams.

The founding question that changed everything

In 2009, our founder — a materials engineer and father of three — began researching what was actually inside the mattresses his family slept on every night. What he found alarmed him: adhesive compounds, flame-retardant chemicals, and formaldehyde-treated foams were standard across the industry.

He set out to build something different. Working with textile artisans in Slovakia and natural fiber specialists in China, he developed a mattress construction method that used no glue, no synthetic treatments, and no compromises — only pure plant-based fibers layered and stitched by hand.

Today, Natural Mattresses operates manufacturing facilities across three continents, serving customers in over 40 countries. Our founding principle has never changed: every mattress we make must be something you'd be happy for your child to sleep on.

How We Make It

Five steps.
Zero shortcuts.

Material Sourcing

We source certified organic cotton, natural latex tapped from rubber tree plantations, coconut coir from sustainable harvests, and ethically produced wool — all verified free from pesticides and synthetic treatments.

Fiber Preparation

Each natural fiber is cleaned, carded, and prepared by hand. No chemical treatments are applied at any stage. Coconut coir is compressed into firm layers; cotton is carded into soft batting.

Hand-Layering

Our artisans layer the prepared fibers in sequence — each layer placed by hand to the correct depth and density. The order and thickness of layers determines the mattress's firmness and feel.

Stitching & Binding

Layers are bound together using traditional hand-stitching techniques — no adhesives, no glue guns, no chemical bonding agents. Every stitch is placed by an artisan with years of craft experience.

Cover & Finish

The mattress is encased in a hand-sewn organic cotton cover, finished with natural twine tufting. Final quality checks verify that every mattress meets our strict standards before leaving the facility.

Artisan Commitment

Every mattress takes 4–6 hours to complete by hand. We never rush the process.

What We Stand For

Four values. One purpose.

Everything we do — from material sourcing to final stitching — is guided by these four principles.

Purity

01

We use only materials we would be happy for our own families to sleep on. No glue, no formaldehyde, no synthetic foams — ever. Our commitment to purity is non-negotiable.

Sustainability

02

Plant-based fibers are inherently renewable. We partner with certified organic farms, use zero-waste production methods, and design mattresses that biodegrade naturally at end of life.

Craftsmanship

03

Machines can be faster, but they cannot replicate the judgement of a skilled artisan. Every mattress is hand-layered, hand-stitched, and hand-inspected by craftspeople who take pride in their work.

Global Reach

04

Pure sleep is a universal need. Our three-continent manufacturing model lets us serve customers in 40+ countries with consistent quality, local expertise, and shorter delivery times.

“Our mission is simple: to make the mattress you sleep on every night something you can feel genuinely good about — for your health, for your family, and for the planet.”
